First Strike

I recently bought the new Call of Duty: Black Ops map pack and I am very pleased with it.  For those of you that don’t know what it is, it is an expansion of Black Ops that included four new multiplayer maps and another new map for the zombie mode called ascension.   My favorite multiplayer map that came in the pack is easily Kowloon it’s a pretty small map and I really like how it’s laid out.  Also I can’t forget about the two zip lines in the middle of the map.  This is something that the people for call of duty have never done before, and honestly I think it’s pretty sweet.  Except the only down side to the zip line is that you are completely exposed to enemy fire when going on it.

The new map pack also contained one of the greatest maps I have ever played zombies one.  This is the best part about the first strike map pack.  I could honestly play zombies on this map forever and not get bored.  They made it pretty original by adding a color filter so all that you see is black and white in the beginning until you turn the color on.  The map also comes with two new perks that aid in the zombie killing.  Honestly the zombie map I one of the best things that Treyarch has put out.

One of the only negatives is that the First Strike map package cost fifteen dollars.  That is a pretty steep price from map packs for halo which usually cost only around ten dollars.  The other negative would be that the map stadium sucks pretty bad.  It’s not even fun to play on.   There are a whole bunch of windows and being in the stadium is certain death.  I really don’t like the map.
Overall I would say the new map pack is pretty sweet.  The price is kind of high but it’s all worth it because of ascension.  It will keep you playing for a longtime.  Great job Treyarch

Blogger's Block

I have seriously been sitting in my bed in front of the laptop for thirty minutes now trying to come up with a blog topic.  This is probably one of the hardest times I have ever had on any homework assignment. I usually can pull together something to write about but this time I’m drawling a complete blank.  I can’t piece a single thing together.  I have the biggest case of blogger’s block ever.

I have even resorted to looking on the internet for some to write about.  I just typed in Google “What to blog about.” You can find the link at the bottom of the page if you’re ever in the same situation as me.  I thought it was a pretty good site but I still couldn’t think of anything.

After trying to find something on the internet I needed to find a new way to write a blog.  So I tried to see if I could maybe get some ideas by reading some other people blogs.  After reading a couple I tried to write a blog about the crazy weather changes but I couldn’t even get one hundred words, which was ridiculous on my part.  So then I thought that I might be able to write a blog about my weekend.  And again it turned out to be an extremely shot blog again.

After all of these attempts I was very frustrated and still couldn’t think of a single thing to blog about.  I almost gave up and I was just about to write it tomorrow morning until the idea popped into my head to write about my little journey about finding a good blog topic.  So I was like why not just try to write about that.  And here I am almost three hundred words later satisfied with myself in finally getting my topic figured out. But anyway here is that link.   http://onlinejournalismblog.com/2009/02/04/starting-a-blog-12-ideas-for-blog-posts/

MCHS

During my first year of high school it was pretty sweet but that soon went down the drain after they decided to change a couple of things.  My freshman year we could carry our bags ever where and go in any door we wanted but after a gun threat they changed all of these rules.
I mean it did make sense to temporarily suspend students from carrying their bags around to classes and also not allowing access into the building though any other door but the main one.  All of this seemed necessary at the time why are they still implementing these rules?
Seriously why can’t I carry my school bag to class anymore? It makes no sense at all why this would still be a rule because it happened almost a year ago.  It was far more convenient for me to carry a bag so I didn’t have to stop at my locker after every period like I do now.  And also they don’t allow a gym bag anymore which really confuses me.
The worst thing about our school is walking from your car in freezing weather to school and finding that the side doors are locked and you have to walk all the way to the front doors.   They finally decided to open the side doors in the morning when the wind chill reached a nice thirty below even though it’s still a walk to get there.  It would make far more sense just to open up the gym doors which is the closes.  If they’re going to open up the side doors what is the point in keeping the gym doors locked?
But really though I think they need to consider changing these rules back to the way that they were. It was a far better time than what it is now.  It’s so dumb how they would keep the rules they created one year and carry them into the next.  So dumb.

Facebook

If your reading this im pretty sure you are familiar with the social networking site Facebook.  Chances are you probably have an account set up for yourself or you know someone who does.  Although it can give you a chance to catch up with your friends it has a lot of negatives.
One really bad one is that it can become addicting.  I was reading an article of a person who had to delete her profile and commit “Facebook suicide” because it was ruining her relationship with her boyfriend and eating up to much of her time.
Which bring me to my next point, people who excessively use Facebook lack physical contact with their peers and the outside world.  It is far too easy to connect with hundreds of people online rather than face to face which many people don’t do enough of.  Also it just eats up to much of your time.  You could just get on to check your notifications and end up just going through many of your friends profiles and just looking at their picture for much longer than you intended.  Facebook also leads to many privacy issues.  People are willing to share much more information about themselves then they otherwise would in real life because they fell Facebook is a safer way to tell the world.  You could also acquire a couple of “Facebook Stalkers” that you probably don’t want.  It is easy for them to find out information about you that they never would be able to in real life without the help of Facebook.
And really though for the people that use Facebook do you really care what half of your Facebook friends are doing?   Also have you ever been with a friend who loves the book and most of the time when your with them they are updating their status or just going through the news feed seeing what other people are up to rather than just being with you? It is probably the most annoying thing I have ever seen.
